From Sarah Leighter to Sarah Blank...
The Proposal
In July 2006, Matt whisked me away for a relaxing week in Tenerife. On our penultimate night (July 7th) we went to El Molino Blanco, a restaurant we discovered in 2003 for our first year anniversary. Little did I know that Matt had previously arranged them to bring out flowers when he was ready to propose (although they got a bit confused and wanted to sing me 'Happy Birthday' until Matt showed them the ring!).
He got down on one knee and popped the question, it was very romantic. You can see pictures from our week away in my photo album.
The Engagement Party
Just to be greedy we had two engagement parties. A family tea and then an evening do. It was a great chance to celebrate with family and friends. We were also very excited about completing on our first house and had just begun the decorating.
The Stag and Hen Weekend
Matt and a few mates got up early and went to Go Ape. They had a great time swinging around from tree to tree in the forest. They stopped off for a pub lunch before returning home to play some Wii. Before going out in the evening to a comedy club, the guys surprised Matt with a stripper! The next day the Ushers, Best Men and Dads took Matt out for a nice lunch.
I on the other hand was treated to a bit of a pamper with a manicure and pedicure before dinner. The girlies hosted a 'Virgin V Party' complete with chocolate fountain, traditional hen night accessories and Pimms...lots of Pimms. We had a fun game of 'Mr and Mrs' complete with DVD interview and forfeits. We ended the night singing our hearts out to karaoke. The following day we had lunch at the Grove; a perfect end to a perfect weekend.
You can see pictures from our weekend in the hen album and stag album.
The Wedding
The wedding took place on August 27th 2007. We had a fantastic time and an amazing day celebrating with friends and family. Everyone looked great and the atmosphere was brilliant, with everyone thoroughly enjoying themselves.
Matt surprised me at the end of his speech with a comical parody to the tune of 'Lullaby of Broadway', and what a fantastic surprise! You can see a clip of this in the 'Wedding Highlights' video at the top right of this page.
Thank you to everyone who celebrated our day with us, you really made it special! You can see pictures from our wedding day in the wedding album.
The Honeymoon
Unfortunately Matt was unwell in the run up to the wedding and we didn’t know if we were going to be able to go away. Thankfully he got the all clear and we booked a last minute Mediterranean cruise about a week before the wedding! We flew to Milan and set sail from Savona. We visited Italy (Naples), Egypt (Alexandria, Cairo), Cyprus (Limassol) and Greece (Rhodes, Athens and Olympia). We had a great time, very relaxing. We even got to see the pyramids and the Sphinx and have lunch on the Nile.
You can see more photos from our trip in our honeymoon album.

Valentines Day 2007
About my husband...
I thought it would be appropriate on the wedding page to tell you a little bit about Matt.
He graduated as an actor in 2003 although gave it all up and is now a successful website designer working for Maxim magazine (he doesn't complain!). He's also heavily involved with Radio Northwick Park and the Michael Jackson World Network.
He makes me laugh an awful lot, has a great sense of humour and best of all...he's mine! Plus, I also get this website :o)
THE HENS SURPRISE:
I was really touched when the girls surprised me with my very own recipe book full of all their favourite recipes. A huge thank you to everyone who contributed.
